Power Signs 2010 Arena Bowl MVP, QB Kyle Rowley
Power also signs OL Justin Wells
The Pittsburgh Power have signed AFL veteran and 2008 Offensive Player of the Year Kyle Rowley. Rowley was the Arena Bowl MVP in 2010, leading the Spokane Shock to the Championship with 9 passing touchdowns and 10 total touchdowns, both Arena Bowl records. In 2011, Rowley passed for 3322 yards and 78 touchdowns for the Shock.
“Kyle has won wherever he’s played–the Ivy League while at Brown, the af2, and the AFL,” said Coach Chris Siegfried. “He’ll raise the expectations for our offence and provide mature leadership and experience to a generally young offensive unit.” Owner and general manager Matt Shaner remarked, “Spokane’s visit last year was a great showcase for Kyle to see the unparalleled facilities we have at CONSOL and just how involved the Power fans are. It certainly helped us in our efforts to secure one of the top talents in our league.”
Justin Wells, an offensive lineman who played collegiately at St. Augustine, auditioned for several NFL teams prior to signing with the Power. “Justin has a chance to be a dominant force in the AFL. We’re thrilled to have him on the team.”
