Power Re-sign NT Taylor, adds DB Chris LeFlore and OL Joe Blanks
The Pittsburgh Power announced the re-signing of nose-tackle Terrance Taylor. Taylor was acquired via trade with the Spokane Shock early in the 2011 season and centered the defensive line for the remainder of the year. Taylor recorded 2.5 sacks on the season. A former Michigan Wolverine, Taylor was drafted in the 4th round (36th Pick) of the NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Taylor also played with the Carolina Panthers before spending the 2009 season on the Detroit Lions practice squad.
Defensive Back Chris LeFlore comes to Pittsburgh after playing for the Dallas Vigilantes of the AFL in 2011. LeFlore, an AFL rookie last season, had a stellar season in Dallas, recording 59 tackles, 21 assisted tackles and 5 interceptions. He also stood out on special teams, amassing 447 return yards and 2 touchdowns on 22 returns. LeFlore started his college career at Nebraska before transferring to Northwest Missouri State. He spent 2010 with Souix City in the Indoor Football League.
The Power also announced the signing of offensive lineman Joe Blanks. The Erie native played in for the Talons and Vigilantes of the AFL after a stellar career at Winton-Salem State.
“We continue to become a more talented and deeper squad,” remarked head coach Chris Siegfried. “We are bringing to camp talented players with big-play ability in all phases of the game.”
