Power Improves to 3-9 After Cleveland Forfeit
CLEVELAND (June 8, 2012) – The Pittsburgh Power improved their record to 3-9 on the season as a result of a forfeit by the Cleveland Gladiators. The entire Power roster was in high spirits as they suited up and took the field, ready to play on Friday night. Several players for the Gladiators arrived ready to dress, but the majority of the team decided to withhold their services, preventing the nationally televised game from being played.
The League is focusing their efforts to resolve the labor situation with the players and are continuing to push for a long-term agreement that is fair for both the players and the teams, while also being good for the game and our fans.
Power players were disappointed in the evening’s events, but are already turning their sites to their next opponent, the Milwaukee Mustangs, who they’ll host at CONSOL Energy Center this coming Saturday, June 16th. They’ll battle Milwaukee for second place in the division and a shot at the playoffs, while monkeys and dogs take the field for a halftime rodeo show.
