Power Season Ends With Loss
The Power season ended on a negative note Friday night as they fell to Jacksonville Sharks by a score of 64-39. The win gave the Sharks the South Division title and left the Power at 5-13 as their season came to a close.
Jacksonville took control of the game from the start and never looked back. The Sharks opened up scoring 27 consecutive points before the first quarter came to a close. The Sharks stopped the Power offense on downs three straight times and Bernard Morris took over throwing for three scores and adding another on the ground.
Pittsburgh finally got on the board in the second quarter taking advantage of a Chris LeFlore interception when Bryan Randall, who entered the game following an Andrico Hines concussion, connected with Mike Washington for a 17-yard score.
From there, the Sharks and Power traded scores until the end of the half when Morris and Jeron Harvey connected for their third and fourth times on the night to give Jacksonville a 48-13 lead at halftime.
Morris finished the game 20-of-25 for 194 yards and eight passing touchdowns. Harvey was his favorite receiver on the night hauling in 13 receptions for 99 yards and four scores.
The Power were able to cut the deficit to 25 by the end of the game, but any second half effort was too little, too late.
Bryan Randall finished the game 12-of-22 for 204 yards and four touchdowns. He also added two scores on the ground. P.J. Berry had three receiving touchdowns for the Power.
