Head Coach – Ron James
Ron James was named the third head coach in Pittsburgh Power history on March 21, 2014. He joined the team just one game into the Power’s 2014 season.
James has compiled a 42-50 record in the regular season during his seven-year head coaching career. Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, James spent the past four years as the head coach of the Utah Blaze where in 2012 he was named the Arena Football League Coach of the Year.
Defensive Backs Coach - Brandon Taylor
Brandon Taylor joins the Pittsburgh Power coaching staff for the 2014 as the team’s defensive backs coach. In 2013, Taylor coach at Kean University.
Collegiately, Taylor was a defensive back at the University of New Hampshire. He then went on to play professionally in both the Arena Football League and AF2 for four years.
Defensive Line Coach - Leroy Thompson
Leroy Thompson joins the Power’s coaching staff in his first season as the team’s defensive line coach. Previously, Thompson was an assistant coach with the AFL American Conference Champion Philadelphia Soul coaching the squad’s fullbacks and linebackers.
Thompson, a 13-year AFL veteran, played for the Albany/Indiana Firebirds (1996-2004), New Orleans VooDoo (2005), and Columbus Destroyers (2006-08). In 2002, he earned First Team All-AFL honors and the AFL’s “Ford Tough Man of the Year”. Thompson made two ArenaBowl appearances in 1999 and in 2007, winning ArenaBowl XIII in 1999 with Albany.
Wide Receivers Coach - Damian Harrell
Damian Harrell joins the Pittsburgh Power coaching staff for the 2014 season as the team’s wide receivers coach.
The holder of seven Arena Football League records, Harrell also earned the AFL Offensive Player of the Year award twice (2005 and 2006) and in 2012 during the League’s 25th Anniversary celebration, the five-time All-AFL selection was named the 10th Greatest Player in AFL History.
